今天早上完成了第二個(gè)電話(huà)面試。心情至今不能平靜。我將這兩次面試比較一下，把一些小經(jīng)驗(yàn)?zāi)贸鰜?lái)分享。同時(shí)還有一些問(wèn)題向大家請(qǐng)教。

第一次是Florida的中國(guó)教授。時(shí)間12月2號(hào)凌晨1點(diǎn)在寢室。整個(gè)面試持續(xù)了1個(gè)多小時(shí)，除了寒暄的話(huà)之外，其他的全都是學(xué)術(shù)方面的。把我的整個(gè)貨水全都弄了去。把我問(wèn)的筋疲力盡，而且后來(lái)還有一些冷，直打哆嗦。還好，最后他告訴我，希望我去他那里，讓我等學(xué)校的消息?？墒侵两襁€沒(méi)有消息那。

第二次是purdue的美國(guó)教授。時(shí)間1月10號(hào)上午8點(diǎn)在實(shí)驗(yàn)室。教授按時(shí)打電話(huà)過(guò)來(lái)，由于上次的經(jīng)驗(yàn)，我早已經(jīng)把準(zhǔn)備了很久的研究經(jīng)歷爛熟于胸，BBS上面的客套話(huà)也準(zhǔn)備了好幾條，還是很自信的。結(jié)果卻出乎意料。

教授（LMM）：Is that the Chinese guy?

ME: （我愣）Yeah, this is **.

LMM: Ok. What shall I call you?

ME: My chinese name is **.

LMM: So I will call you **. Nice to talk to you. You know that I have a chinese student ** here and I will let him to talk to you now. (聲音轉(zhuǎn)換，一個(gè)boy)

Hi

, **. Nice to talk to you.

ME: (感覺(jué)教授特別nice，讓我放松一樣，找了一個(gè)中國(guó)學(xué)生和我聊聊)Nice to talk to you too. I saw you on the website.

LMM:(又換成了教授) Okay...You can also contact with him if you have any question about your application and my research work.

ME: I see and I would like to. Thank you very much. (這個(gè)完全不在準(zhǔn)備之中)

LMM: You shoule not care about your application to the ** program and I will sort it out at this end. (因?yàn)榻淌谡f(shuō)我申請(qǐng)錯(cuò)系了)(感覺(jué)教授的聲音特別隨意，好像一邊做飯一邊聊天，而且，聲音時(shí)大時(shí)小，有好多關(guān)鍵字都聽(tīng)不到，讓我非常郁悶)

ME: I am sorry that the phone is really not clear. I wonder why?...

LMM: Now is okay? (這回好一些了)

ME: Yeah, it's okay now.

LMM: Maybe it's because the Microphone. ............(重復(fù)上面的一句話(huà))

ME: I see. You have told me about this in the email. I am not worry about my application now.

LMM: (長(zhǎng)嘆了一口氣，好像是說(shuō)我終于聽(tīng)懂了) Okay......., that's good. ... Do you have any questions about our conversion?

ME: (又是電話(huà)不清楚，我只聽(tīng)清question，可能是問(wèn)我研究經(jīng)歷，感覺(jué)這個(gè)應(yīng)該是下一步

了)I have participated in several reseach acitivities...

LMM: （立刻打斷）No...no..no..I dont care about your research experience.

（我愣...）Okay, I ask you. What will you do after you finish you phD in the United State？

ME: I will continue to do research work on computational biology. Because I am very interested in it and ...（一些牽強(qiáng)的理由）.

LMM: ...university...company...?(沒(méi)有聽(tīng)清)

ME: I will stay in the university becasue I like the atmosphere of studying in the school.

LMM: Okay...Will you go back to China or still stay in the United State.

ME: I think after finishing my phD I will go back to China...

LMM: I have a chinese colleague who is doing research on computational biology too. And he went back to Taiwan now. I think you can contact with him. It's necessary for you to talk to him about this question, although there are differences between the Taiwan and the mainland.

ME: Okay, I will. （感覺(jué)有點(diǎn)奇怪，但是又不敢輕易回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題）

LMM: You know that there're also many differences between USA and China. Here in the USA, a graduate must study himself and figure out ideas himself. And the ...(這個(gè)時(shí)候好像教授收到了一個(gè)電話(huà)）please hold on a moment...

Boy: The professor is on another phone, please wait for a moment.

ME: It doesnt matter.(然后就和他聊了起來(lái)，當(dāng)然還是英文。他介紹了他們實(shí)驗(yàn)室的情況，又說(shuō)，他自己現(xiàn)在在作生物信息學(xué)。這個(gè)我最感興趣了。我和這個(gè)中國(guó)學(xué)生了得很愉

快，大概聊了20多分鐘的樣子。）

LMM: I am back now.

ME: I have had a good talk with **.

LMM: Yeah. I go on with my talk. You know the phd study takes so many years, and it is very hard and ... one's interest is very important.

ME: I see. And I am ready for it.

LMM: LOL...nobody is ready for it...LOL...

ME: ...（無(wú)語(yǔ)）

LMM: I think it's important for you to think of these questions. Becasuse the problem of the phone, you need not to answer me now. You can write to me later.

ME: Okay, I will write to you soon.

LMM: Not soon. You can take a few days.

ME: Okay, I will write to you as soon as I have answers.

LMM: Yeah! Have a good Saturday.....Take care! Bye!

ME:BYE!

總體感覺(jué)教授非常nice。根本沒(méi)有刁難的意思。他好像也知道電話(huà)的問(wèn)題，于是也沒(méi)有

要求我回答很多的question。那個(gè)中國(guó)學(xué)生也非常好。整個(gè)面試很愉快。只可惜我被第一個(gè)中國(guó)教授嚇壞了，那次把我弄得死去活來(lái)的，所以這次準(zhǔn)備的全部都是專(zhuān)業(yè)知識(shí)，而其他問(wèn)題只看了一遍，沒(méi)有太多準(zhǔn)備。結(jié)果這次面試卻一點(diǎn)專(zhuān)業(yè)知識(shí)都沒(méi)有涉及。倒是問(wèn)了關(guān)于未來(lái)打算的問(wèn)題。

這里我將這次教授問(wèn)我的那幾個(gè)問(wèn)題拿出來(lái)，和大家討論一下，到底我應(yīng)該怎么回答那

個(gè)教授。尤其是最后一個(gè)問(wèn)題。

1, What do I want to do as a graduate?

2, What am I interested in?

3, After finishing my phD, what will I do?

4, Will I stay in the United State or go back to China?

我不知道將來(lái)留在美國(guó)和回到中國(guó)對(duì)于錄取有多大的影響。這個(gè)問(wèn)題該怎么回答那？

總結(jié)，我覺(jué)得，中國(guó)教授一般都很了解自己人，一定要摸清底細(xì)才放心。所以中國(guó)教授的面試，一定要準(zhǔn)備好專(zhuān)業(yè)知識(shí)?？赡苓@也是BBS上面說(shuō)得為什么不要找中國(guó)教授了。外國(guó)教授不會(huì)象中國(guó)教授這樣問(wèn)的那么細(xì)。一般都很nice。把那些經(jīng)典問(wèn)題準(zhǔn)備一下，就沒(méi)有問(wèn)題了。
